From overgrown to outstanding: a garden transformation

Two years ago this garden was hemmed in by a dead hedge and more than 1.5 metres of unchecked ivy. Here's how we took it back — and turned it into a favourite outdoor space.

Two years ago, this part of our garden looked very different. The boundary was lined with a dead hedge and over 1.5 metres of mature ivy that had been growing unchecked for more than 20 years. Before we could even think about landscaping, we had to tackle the hard part — removing tonnes of ivy roots and vegetation, clearing the site, and installing a completely new fence.

It was dirty, physically demanding work, but every great transformation starts with solid groundwork.

What we built

Since then, we've completely reimagined the space:

  • A new patio area
  • A pergola with wisteria trained over it
  • New planting beds and borders
  • A natural stone pathway running through the garden
  • An outdoor entertainment space where family and friends gather for regular South African and Spanish-style braais

What was once an overgrown, neglected corner is now one of our favourite places to spend time.

Your garden probably has more potential than you think

Many gardens across Galicia and the UK have incredible potential hidden beneath years of overgrowth, invasive plants, neglected boundaries or outdated layouts. The challenge is usually knowing where to start.

Whether you need a complete garden clearance, new fencing, landscaping, planting or a full redesign, we can help transform your outdoor space into something you can enjoy for years to come.
